Bonjour!
So this past week was my first week of school at Dauphine! On Monday, Jordan and I got up extra early just so that we would get to class in time to find the classroom and get some grub. It was our first day of French class with Prof. Baptiste (our hot professor from last week's Stage). The class is called Paris, Cite des arts (city of arts) and it's supposed to be very interesting because half of the class is taught within the classroom about art, literature, French culture etc., and the rest is taught outside where we go on little excursions throughout the city. That's pretty sweet.
We got to school 30 mins early, only to find out that the French class didn't start till NEXT Monday the 8th. That was not cool. I thank Kylie for this. We called her to meet up beforehand and she was like, "Uh, it's not till next week". We felt like losers.
So basically it was a great start to the week of school. I went to my classes on all the other days.. Tuesday is Cross Cultural Barriers (in English) from 5:45-8:15. There, we talk about stereotypes between countries and the teacher welcomes a lot of debates so that should be interesting what all of us international students think about each other. Wednesday morning is Pop Art (in English) from 8:30 a.m.(ouch)- 11:45 where we learn about music and pop culture, and Thursday is International Business Ethics (in English) from 1:45-5. My dad will appreciate that I am taking this class "because it looks good on my resume." They all only meet once a week and they are all 3 and a half hours long but i'd rather have it this way.
Next week, February 8th, I start my two French courses, Paris city des Arts (in French) Monday from 1:45-5 and Comprendre le Francais and rencontre le Francais (understanding the French and meeting them) on Tuesday and Friday from 12-1:30. Not a bad schedule. Even though it's on Fridays, its only for an hour and a half. I can handle that.
More to talk about classes once I have a FULL week next week!
